The evening’s décor was inspired by the British garden — a nod to the brand’s most recent collection by Creative Director, Julia Haart. The stunning boutique, spanning over 2,583 square feet, came to life with a street-wide floral installation including pillars of blooming bougainvillea; cloaked in the brand’s FW17 NYFW runway video.

LA PERLA BOUTIQUE ON VIA MONTENAPOLEONE IN MILAN DOUBLES IN SIZE IN ITS NEW SPACE


The historic La Perla boutique on Milan’s most fashionable street has moved to a new location at 14 Montenapoleone and has doubled its size, expanding to over 2,583 square feet across two floors.

A geometric arrangement steals the scene at the entrance, decorated with golden metal trims and the La Perla logo against a light blue background. These two architectural features can be seen throughout the flagship store, which was designed by the Baciocchi Associati Studio, as all La Perla boutiques have been since the brand was acquired in 2013 by Pacific Global Management, the holding company owned by the family of Silvio Scaglia.
The main space is illuminated by pure white marble floors, which contrast sharply with the sapphire blue carpets adorned with metallic herringbone trims, detailing that can also be seen on the dark blue aluminum ceiling. The walls are covered in powder blue panels and golden mesh accents inspired by the weave of tulle, a symbolic fabric representing La Perla style. The juxtaposition of blue and white repeats on the stunning white marble staircase and on the soft, sinuous velvet-covered seats. The refined feel of this space is emphasized by the central pillar and private suite decorated with diamond-shaped mirrors.
The upper floor is divided into four rooms decorated with display niches and gilded mirrors. These spaces range in color, from shades of lilac and amethyst to bold purple in the VIP suite, a sophisticated and cozy lounge for the brand’s most important clients.
The relocation of the historic boutique on Via Montenapoleone falls within a global expansion project involving select La Perla flagship stores, such as the Rome boutique on Via Bocca di Leone which has also doubled in size in order to accomodate the new ready-to-wear collection— reflecting the company's new and expanded offering developed by Creative Director, Julia Haart.

Creator Swiss-Chilean, Tito Hector Alvarez, came up with the idea of beyondBeanie during his pack-backing trip from Switzerland to Bolivia. He noticed the presence of lady-knitters and street children selling candy and loose cigarettes at busy intersections in La Paz, Bolivia. One of his friends, Paty Lucero, explained that although Bolivia is a beautiful country, it still remains one of the poorest countries in Latin America. Artist Ivette Cabrera Celebrates Women of All Ethnic Backgrounds Through Her Work

Ivette Cabrera is a Miami-based artist who lets her art do the talking when it comes to the stance of woman all over the world. With the Woman’s March just a few weeks ago and it being Black History Month, there’s no better way to merge the two than with Cabrera's art. Cabrera comments about her art: “The subjects for my work are women from various cultures. In visual art, it is both important to convey powerful messages to the viewer and to represent a beauty which entices the viewer to search deeper. The subjects of my work are beautiful women. Ivette Cabrera is a Nicaraguan born artist who currently resides in Wynwood. After studying Interior Architecture and Design at the Academy of Art University and Marketing at Columbia College in Chicago, she began an art collective and artist residency in Wynwood in 2012 called Viophilia as an artistic sanctuary for artists to work intensively on their craft. She has curated numerous art shows as well as worked on various projects, including site renderings, interior renovations, and public art murals, as well as designing and constructing a house in Nicaragua. Her work has been part of numerous exhibitions, displayed at the Baker Museum in Naples, Florida, and is part of numerous private collections.

Author Alysia Helming's debut novel, Protogenesis—the first installment in a seven-novel YA series, the "Protogena Chronicles"— hit number one on Amazon in its category, in less than a month after its release.  Protogenesis chronicles the story of a young girl, Helene, whose entire life is uprooted upon her mother's sudden, tragic disappearance.
Helene moves to Greece to live with a godfather she has never met with a mission to investigate her mother's mysterious disappearance, which she believes involves the Greek mafia.  There, she faces all the usual travails of being a teenager: adjusting to a new school, learning and fitting into a new culture, and navigating her love life.

Soon, she finds herself ensnared in a love triangle, but that is the least of her problems: she finds a mystical portal into a world where Greek mythology and the roots of modern civilization converge.  Helene hopes the portal will help her find out what happened to her mother, but whether the Greek gods and goddesses are on her side remains to be seen.

This story is completely new, never been done before in fiction.  As one reader put it, "Helene's world is a fantasy that seems only a step or two from our reality."

Although many of Helene's experiences may be supernatural, much of it is rooted in real-life, highlighting the serious economic crisis that plagues Greece.  To bring Helene's world to life, Helming visited Greece nine times between 2015 and 2016.  What really sets apart this story from all others, is that in each of her trips to Greece, Helming crossed paths with people that would eventually play a key role in the creation of her book story – chance encounters with everyday people, and even celebrities, that turned out to be vital sources for her fictional writing.
The original theme song to the book, "Forever & Tonight," was created with Greek music star, Kostas Martakis, in collaboration with Panik Records (video). Renowned Greek American artist, Philip Tsiaras, designed the book's cover. These experiences enabled her to grasp and unite the "past" of ancient Greece and mythology with the "present" challenging reality that the Greek people currently face, with science fiction and technology offering a "futuristic" twist. 

Now, Helming's mission is to help Greece by offering a message of hope and to drive tourism there through her book series. To this end, she collaborated with Panik Entertainment and Filmskin, one of Greece's top Directors, to produce a series of six short films, each cinematically spectacular, in locations following Helene's footsteps through Athens.
